Tackling Disproportionality within Walsall’s young black community

The fractured relationship with the Police has long been an issue and regularly cited as one of the biggest concerns that exists within the UK’s Black community. Over the years
there have been a number of attempts by the Police to try to address some of these concerns, however, they have often been received as insincere or not going far enough.

The 2020 murder of George Floyd once again brought some of these historical concerns to the fore and directly acted as a catalyst for the Police to further examine how they can best make progress in moving towards delivering meaningful change for Black communities.

FNB have been commissioned to consult with young people within the black community to capture their views of the Police and any suggestions on what they think could be done to improve relationships moving forward.
